Online stopwatch

Measure time to a hundredth of a second, record laps and see your fastest and slowest lap at once. The stopwatch keeps running if you reload the page.

Free and private. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. StartPress Start or the space bar.
  2. Record lapsPress Lap or L at each lap. The current lap is shown under the time.
  3. Save the resultsStop, then copy the lap table or download it as a CSV file.

Laps that tell you something

Each lap is shown with its own time and the running total, newest first. When you have two or more laps, the fastest one is marked in green and the slowest in red, so you can see at a glance where you gained or lost time on a track, in the pool or in a speed cubing session.

When you are done, copy the table straight into a spreadsheet, or download a CSV file that opens correctly in Excel and Google Sheets.

Accurate, even in the background

The stopwatch records the moment you pressed Start and calculates the elapsed time from the system clock, instead of counting ticks. Browsers slow down hidden tabs, but the time shown when you come back is still exact. The start time is saved on your device, so a reload does not lose your measurement.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is the stopwatch?

It reads the system clock and shows hundredths of a second. The main source of error is your own reaction time when you press the button.

Does it keep running if I switch tabs or reload?

Yes. The start time is saved in your browser, so the stopwatch continues and shows the correct time when you return.

Can I export the lap times?

Yes. Copy the table with one click or download a CSV file for Excel or Google Sheets.

Are my times uploaded?

No. Everything stays in your browser.
