How the lessons work
Touch typing means every finger has its own keys and you never look down. Your fingers rest on the home row: the left index finger on F, the right index finger on J; most keyboards have small bumps on these two keys so you can find them by feel.
The first lessons only use a few home row keys. Each new lesson adds two keys, first the rest of the home row, then the top row, then the bottom row. After that you practice real words with all letters and finally capitals and punctuation. The on-screen keyboard shows which finger to use for every key, and the next key is highlighted while you type.
Accuracy first
A lesson is passed with at least 95 percent accuracy, whatever your speed. Speed comes by itself once your fingers know the way; typing fast with many mistakes only trains the mistakes. Ten to fifteen minutes a day is better than one long session a week.
