How it works

  1. Set the timeKeep Now for live clocks, or choose a date and time.
  2. Choose the source citySearch a city or time zone the time refers to.
  3. Add citiesAdd the cities you want to compare. They are saved for next time.

Daylight saving time done right

The difference between two cities is not constant: Europe and North America switch to summer time on different weekends, the southern hemisphere switches the other way, and many countries do not switch at all. The converter uses the time zone database built into your browser, the same one used by operating systems, so the offset is correct for the exact date you choose, not just for today.

Each city shows its local time and date, the UTC offset and abbreviation, and how many hours it is ahead of or behind the source city, including half and quarter hour zones like India or Nepal.

Plan across borders

Pick a date and time in your own city to see what it means elsewhere, or click Convert from here on any card to use that city as the starting point. For finding a meeting time that suits everyone, use the meeting planner, which shows working hours side by side.

Frequently asked questions

Is daylight saving time taken into account?

Yes, for the exact date and time you choose, using the time zone rules built into your browser.

Why can't I find my city?

Time zones are named after a main city. Try the nearest large city or the country's capital, or type the time zone, for example Europe/Berlin.

What is UTC?

Coordinated Universal Time, the reference time without daylight saving. GMT is practically the same.

Are my cities saved?

Yes, in your browser only, so the list is ready next time.
