How it works
Add your imagesDrop JPG, PNG or WebP files onto the page or choose them from your device.
Choose the levelLow keeps the most detail, Strong gives the smallest files. Or set a target size in KB.
Compare and downloadCheck the result against the original, then save the files one by one or as a ZIP.
How image compression works
Photos and screenshots usually carry far more data than you can see. Compression removes the parts the eye barely notices, so the file gets smaller while the image looks almost the same.
JPG and WebP files are saved again at a lower quality. PNG files are reduced to a carefully chosen palette of colors, which keeps sharp edges and transparent areas intact.
When should you compress images?
Smaller images make websites load faster, fit upload limits on forms and marketplaces, and travel easily by email or chat. Online stores and blogs often save more than half of their page weight just by compressing product photos.
Everything happens in your browser, so even large batches are quick and your photos stay private.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs in your browser on your own device. Your files are not sent to our servers.
Will I see a difference in quality?
At the Recommended level most people cannot tell the difference. Use Compare on any file to check it side by side before you download.
Can I compress an image to an exact size like 100 KB?
Yes, for JPG and WebP. Choose Target size and type the size in KB. The tool finds the highest quality that fits under it.
What if the file is already small?
If compression cannot make a file smaller, you get the original back unchanged. The tool never makes a file bigger.
Does it remove photo metadata?
Yes. Camera details and location data (EXIF) are removed from compressed files, which also saves a little space.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. After you open the page once, it keeps working even if your connection drops.
