Word converter
Turn a Word document into clean HTML, Markdown or plain text. Headings, lists, tables, links and images come along, while Word's messy formatting stays behind. The document never leaves your device.

How it works
Add your Word fileDrop a .docx file or choose it from your computer.
Pick the outputChoose HTML, Markdown or plain text and check the preview next to the code.
Copy or downloadCopy the result into your site or editor, or download it as a file.
Clean content instead of Word's clutter
Copying text from Word into a website or a content management system usually brings fonts, colors and invisible formatting along. This converter reads the structure of the document instead: headings stay headings, lists stay lists and tables stay tables, and everything else is left out.
The result is clean code that takes the styles of your own site, ready for blog posts, product descriptions, documentation and email templates.
Your documents stay private
Contracts, offers and internal documents often should not be uploaded to unknown servers. Here the document is opened and converted in your browser, and nothing is sent to us.
Frequently asked questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. The file is opened and converted in your browser. It is not sent to our servers.
Can I convert old .doc files?
Only .docx files are supported. Open an old .doc file in Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.
Are images kept?
Yes. Images are embedded into the HTML, so the file works on its own. You can also leave images out to get lighter code.
Why do fonts and colors disappear?
On purpose. The converter keeps the meaning of the content, such as headings, emphasis, lists and tables, so the text takes the look of the page you paste it into.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After you open the page once, documents can be converted without an internet connection.
