Settle it with a coin
Who goes first, which film to watch, who pays for coffee: a coin toss is the oldest fair way to decide between two options. Football matches still start with one. This coin is chosen by the secure random generator of your browser, so heads and tails have exactly the same chance, and nobody can be accused of a trick throw.
The 3D flip animation shows the result once it is decided, and the statistics keep count of every flip.
Probability in the classroom
Set the number of coins to 100, 1,000 or 10,000 and flip them all at once. Students see that the share of heads gets closer to 50 percent the more coins they flip, the law of large numbers in action, while short runs of the same side are completely normal.
