How it works
Open the videoDrop a video; mirroring left to right is already selected.

Fix mirrored front camera videos
Many phones and webcams record the front camera like a mirror, so writing on a shirt, a sign or a whiteboard reads backwards. Mirror (left to right) is already selected on this page: open the video, check the preview and save. Choose Flip upside down for a recording that was made with the camera upside down, or add a rotation if the video is also sideways.
Mirroring both ways at once is the same as turning the video 180 degrees, so the tool saves it as a fast rotation without re-encoding when the file is MP4 or MOV.
Quality and sound
Mirroring changes every frame, so the video is encoded again at high quality; MP4 and MOV results use H.264 and AAC so they play everywhere. The sound is kept and copied unchanged when possible. Everything happens in your browser, which can take a while for long videos on slower devices.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
Rotating turns the picture around its center. Flipping mirrors it, like a reflection in a mirror.
Will the sound be mirrored too?
No. Left and right audio channels stay as they are; only the picture is mirrored.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is processed in your browser and never leaves your device. There is no watermark.
Does rotating reduce the quality?
A plain rotation of an MP4 or MOV file does not: the video is copied and only its orientation setting changes. Mirroring, WebM and MKV files, and the Re-encode option save the picture again at high quality.
The rotated video still plays sideways in one program. Why?
That program ignores the orientation setting. Rotate the original again with Re-encode and the picture itself will be turned.
Which formats can I rotate?
MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV. The result keeps the format of the original file.
Is the sound kept?
Yes. The sound track is copied, or converted to AAC when an MP4 or MOV file needs it.
