A PDF you can still search and copy
Some online converters turn every page into a picture, so the text in the PDF cannot be selected, searched or read aloud. Here the document is laid out in your browser and every line is written into the PDF as real text, with a font embedded in the file. Accents and Latin, Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese letters stay exact. Scripts the embedded font does not cover, like Chinese, Japanese or Arabic, are drawn as images so they still show up correctly.
Headings keep their levels, bold, italic, underline, superscript and subscript are kept, bullet and numbered lists get their markers, and tables keep their rows, merged cells and borders. A table row or an image is never cut in half at the end of a page, headings stay with the paragraph that follows, and page breaks you inserted in Word start a new page in the PDF.
Limits worth knowing
The conversion reads the content and structure of the document rather than copying Word's own page layout. The text is set in one clean font with consistent sizes, so line and page breaks will not match Word exactly. Headers and footers, footnote positions, text boxes, floating images, columns, text colors and highlighting are not reproduced, and old .doc files must be saved as .docx first. For documents where the exact Word layout matters, such as forms with fixed positions, saving to PDF from Word itself is the safer route.
For letters, reports, contracts, CVs, homework and most everyday documents, the result is a clean, readable PDF.
Private and offline
Your documents are opened and converted in the browser. Nothing is uploaded, and once the page has loaded the conversion works even without an internet connection.
