Markdown the way GitHub shows it
The editor understands the Markdown you know from GitHub, GitLab and most documentation sites: headings, bold and italic text, links, images, quotes, numbered and bulleted lists that can be nested, horizontal rules and line breaks. On top of that come the GitHub additions: tables with left, center or right aligned columns, task lists with checkboxes, strikethrough and fenced code blocks with a language name.
Every heading gets an anchor id the same way GitHub creates them, so a link like [Install](#install) jumps to the Install section both in the preview and in the exported HTML. Ticking a checkbox in the preview updates the [ ] or [x] in your text.
From Markdown to email, document or web page
Copy formatted text puts the rendered result on the clipboard, so pasting into Gmail, Outlook, Word or Google Docs keeps headings, lists, links and tables. Download HTML saves a complete page with simple, readable styling that opens in any browser, and Copy HTML copies just the code for a blog, CMS or newsletter template.
Switch Show to HTML to see the generated code while you write. The output is clean HTML without classes or inline styles, apart from the language name on code blocks and the markers of task lists.
Safe and private
Markdown files can contain raw HTML. Before anything is shown, the result passes a strict filter that removes scripts, event handlers, frames and javascript: links, so opening a file from an unknown source cannot run code on this page. Your text is not sent anywhere: it is processed in your browser, and the current draft is kept only in this browser so it is still there after a reload.
