Pick a number from 1 to 10

Think of a number between one and ten: the classic guessing game, a quick way to decide who goes first, or a fair way to choose a reward from a list of ten. Press Generate and a number appears at once, large enough to read from across the room.

Need more than one? Set How many to 3 and keep No repeats on to get three different numbers from 1 to 10, for example to pick three of ten questions.

Fair every time

Each number has a 10 percent chance on every click, independent of the previous result. Getting the same number twice in a row happens in about one of ten tries, which is normal for true randomness.

Frequently asked questions

Is 10 included?

Yes. Both 1 and 10 can come up, each with a 10 percent chance.

Are the minimum and maximum included?

Yes. A range of 1 to 10 can return both 1 and 10.

Can I get numbers without repeats?

Yes. Keep No repeats on. The count cannot be larger than the number of values in the range.

Can I generate decimal numbers?

Yes. Choose 1 to 4 decimal places; every value with that precision is equally likely.

How random are the numbers?

They come from crypto.getRandomValues, the generator browsers use for security, with bias removed.
