Rotate image

Turn sideways or upside down photos the right way: rotate by 90, 180 or 270 degrees and mirror horizontally or vertically, for one picture or a whole folder.

Your files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. Add your imagesDrop one or more pictures.
  2. Choose the rotation90 degrees right or left, 180 degrees, and flip if needed.
  3. DownloadCompare before and after, then download one by one or as a ZIP.

Sideways photos, fixed for good

Phones save the way they were held as a small orientation note inside the photo. Some programs, upload forms and older viewers ignore that note, so the picture shows up sideways. This tool applies the orientation first and then your rotation, and saves the pixels the right way round, so the image looks the same everywhere.

JPG files are saved at high quality (95), PNG stays lossless. HEIC and AVIF photos are saved as JPG, because browsers cannot write those formats.

Batch rotation

Drop a whole set of scans or photos taken with the camera upside down, choose the rotation once and download them all together as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

Does rotating reduce quality?

PNG stays lossless. JPG is saved again at high quality, the difference is not visible.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Why was my photo sideways in the first place?

Phones store the orientation as a note in the file; some programs ignore it. After rotating here the pixels themselves are turned.
