What makes a good slug
A good slug is short, readable and uses only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Search engines and people both read it, so it should describe the page in a few words.
Titles with accents need care: letters such as é, ñ and ü are not safe in every system, so they are replaced with their closest Latin letters. Crème Brûlée Recipes becomes creme-brulee-recipes, and with German selected Größe & Farbe becomes groesse-und-farbe.
Bulk slugs for stores and blogs
Online stores and marketplaces often need slugs for hundreds of products at once. Paste the product names column from a spreadsheet, copy the result and paste it back next to the names; the order stays the same.
