How it works
Add your PNG filesDrop them onto the page or choose them from your device. You can add as many as you like.
Choose the levelRecommended is selected by default. Pick Strong for smaller files or Low to keep more detail.
Compare and downloadCheck the result against the original, then save each PNG on its own or all of them as a ZIP.
How PNG compression works here
A PNG can store millions of colors, but most images only need a few hundred to look right. The tool picks the best palette for each image and spreads small differences evenly, so gradients stay smooth.
Screenshots and flat graphics often shrink by 60 to 80 percent. Photos saved as PNG shrink too, although JPG or WebP may suit them better.
About PNG
PNG is lossless, so screenshots, logos and graphics saved as PNG are often much larger than they need to be. Reducing the number of colors to a smart palette makes them dramatically smaller while transparency stays intact.
Frequently asked questions
Will the transparent background stay transparent?
Yes. Transparent and semi transparent areas are kept in the compressed PNG.
Can I set a target size for PNG?
Yes, but the file is then saved as JPG, or as WebP when it has transparency, because a PNG cannot be shrunk by lowering the quality. To keep PNG, choose Strong for the smallest file.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Compression runs in your browser on your own device. Your files are not sent to our servers.
Will I see a difference in quality?
At the Recommended level most people cannot tell the difference. Use Compare on any file to check it side by side before you download.
Can I compress an image to an exact size like 100 KB?
Yes, for JPG and WebP. Choose Target size and type the size in KB. The tool finds the highest quality that fits under it.
What if the file is already small?
If compression cannot make a file smaller, you get the original back unchanged. The tool never makes a file bigger.
Does it remove photo metadata?
Yes. Camera details and location data (EXIF) are removed from compressed files, which also saves a little space.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. After you open the page once, it keeps working even if your connection drops.
