Increase image resolution

Double the resolution of a photo with AI so it looks sharp in print, on large screens and on marketplaces with minimum size rules.

Your files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. Add your imagesDrop the pictures; the scale is already set.
  2. Wait a momentThe image is enlarged piece by piece.
  3. DownloadCompare and download one by one or as a ZIP.

When resolution is too low

Print shops ask for 300 DPI, marketplaces reject product images under 1000 pixels and a small photo looks blurry on a 4K screen. Doubling the resolution with AI gives four times as many pixels with real looking detail rather than blur.

2x is the best choice for normal photos: the result looks natural and the file stays a reasonable size. Use 4x for very small images such as icons, avatars and thumbnails.

What to expect

Edges and textures become crisp and JPEG noise is cleaned up. Faces and small text improve when they are already recognizable in the original.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get 300 DPI for printing?

Divide the print size by 300: a 10 x 15 cm print needs about 1200 x 1800 pixels. Upscale until the image reaches that size.

Is 2x enough?

For most photos yes. Choose 4x only when the original is very small.

How big can the result be?

Up to 4096 x 4096 pixels. For 4x the input can be up to 1024 x 1024, for 2x up to 2048 x 2048.

Does it invent details?

It sharpens edges and textures in a natural way, but it cannot recover text or faces that are not visible at all.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Which model is used?

Real-ESRGAN general x4v3 (BSD-3 license), running with ONNX Runtime Web.
