Text to QR code
Put any text into a QR code: a note, a serial number, assembly instructions or a code word. When scanned, the phone shows the text without needing an internet connection.
Free and private. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How it works
Fill in the fieldsThe right content type is already selected. Fill in the fields and the code updates as you type.
Style itChoose colors, size and margin, and add a logo if you like. A readability warning shows if colors are risky.
DownloadDownload the QR code as PNG or SVG, or copy the image and paste it into your design.
Works offline, on both sides
A text code holds the text itself, so reading it does not need a connection. That is useful for equipment labels, warehouse shelves and places with poor reception.
Up to a few hundred characters scan easily. Longer texts are possible, but the code gets dense and needs to be printed larger.
About TXT
A text QR code holds plain text. Phones show it on screen when scanned, and some offer to copy it or search for it.
About QR
A QR code is a two dimensional barcode that phones read with their camera. It can hold up to about 4,000 characters and has built in error correction, so part of it can be damaged or covered and it still scans.
Frequently asked questions
How much text fits?
Up to about 2,900 letters with low error correction. Accented letters and emoji take more room than plain English letters, so the real limit is a little lower.
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static codes with your content inside, not a redirect through our server, so they keep working as long as the content is valid.
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you create or how you use them, including commercial use.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Add a logo and it is placed in the middle on a small background. Error correction is set to high automatically so the code still scans.
PNG or SVG?
PNG works everywhere, from documents to social media. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which makes it the best choice for print.
Can I change where a QR code points after printing?
Not with a static code. If you may need to change the destination later, point the code to a page on your own site and change that page instead.
