Voice changer
Make a voice recording sound higher or lower without speeding it up or slowing it down: open the file, choose a preset or set the semitones yourself, listen and download the result as MP3, WAV or M4A.

How it works
Open the songDrop an audio file or a video, or choose it from your device.
Choose the new pitchSet the semitones, fine tune in cents and press Change pitch.
Listen and downloadCheck the result in the player, pick MP3, WAV or M4A and download.
What the presets do
Higher voice raises the pitch by four semitones, Lower voice lowers it by four. Child-like goes up seven semitones and Deep voice down seven. All presets only move the pitch: the length and the words stay the same. You can fine tune every preset with the semitone slider and the cents control.
A real voice change also moves the formants, the resonances of the throat and mouth that make a voice sound like a particular person. This tool shifts them together with the pitch, so a raised voice sounds smaller and brighter and a lowered voice larger and darker, a bit like a cartoon character at large settings. It does not add robot, echo or other effects.
Good uses and limits
The voice changer works well for fun messages, for making a narrator sound different in a video, for disguising a voice a little in a recording, or for matching a voice memo to the key of a song. Pitch changes do not make a voice anonymous in a reliable way: the speaking style, accent and words remain recognisable. Clean recordings without background music give the most natural result.
Frequently asked questions
Can I record my voice here?
Record with the voice recorder tool first, download the file and open it here. Everything stays on your device.
Does the voice changer make me unrecognisable?
Not reliably. It changes the pitch, but your way of speaking, your accent and the words stay the same. Do not rely on it to protect your identity.
Why does a large change sound unnatural?
Because the resonances of the voice move with the pitch. Shifts up to about four semitones sound the most natural.
Is my song uploaded?
No. The file is decoded, processed and encoded inside your browser and never leaves your device. The tool is free and adds nothing to the sound.
Does the song get faster or slower?
No, not with Keep tempo switched on: the length stays exactly the same. Switch it off if you want speed and pitch to change together.
How many semitones should I transpose to fit my voice?
If a song is too high for you, try -2 or -3 semitones; if it is too low, +2 or +3. A change of five or more semitones is usually audible as a sound change, especially on vocals.
Can I use it as a voice changer?
Yes, the voice changer page has presets for a higher or lower voice. It only shifts the pitch; it does not add robot or other effects, and very large shifts sound artificial.
How are MP3 files made?
MP3 files are made with the open source LAME encoder (lame.sourceforge.io), right in your browser.
Which files can I open?
MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC and the sound of MP4, MOV and WebM videos, as far as your browser can decode them. M4A output needs a browser that can encode AAC, such as Chrome, Edge or Safari.
