How it works

  1. Add audio filesDrop one or more files.
  2. Choose format and qualityMP3 for any player, WAV for editing, M4A for sharing, OGG for small files.
  3. DownloadDownload one by one or all as a ZIP.

The right format for the job

MP3 plays on everything, from car radios to smart speakers, so it is the safe choice when you do not know where the file will be played. WAV is uncompressed and opens in every editor, DAW and old hardware, so it is best for editing and for devices that are picky about formats. M4A with AAC is compact and sounds slightly better than MP3 at the same size. OGG with Opus gives excellent quality at low bit rates, especially for speech.

Choose Mono for voice memos and podcasts recorded with one microphone: the file is half the size with no audible difference.

Private and fast

Files are decoded and encoded in your browser with its built in audio codecs, so recordings never leave your device and there is no upload wait.

Frequently asked questions

How good is the MP3 quality?

MP3 files are made with the open source LAME encoder (lame.sourceforge.io). At 192 kbit/s most listeners cannot tell them from the original; choose 256 kbit/s for music archives.

Does converting improve quality?

No. Converting a compressed file to WAV keeps its current quality but cannot restore what was lost.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Which input formats work?

MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC and WebM audio.
