Wi-Fi QR code reader

See what is inside a Wi-Fi QR code: the network name, the password and the security type. Copy the password to connect a laptop, a TV or any device without a camera.

Free and private. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Add the QR codeStart the camera, drop an image or paste a screenshot. Several images can be read at once.
  2. Check the contentYou see what the code contains before anything happens, including where a link really goes.
  3. Use itCopy the text, open the link, copy the password or save the contact with one click.

Connect devices that cannot scan

Phones join a network straight from a Wi-Fi code, but laptops, TVs and printers cannot scan it. Read the code here, copy the password and type or paste it on the other device.

Special characters in network names and passwords are decoded correctly, so what you copy is exactly the real password.

About QR

A QR code stores text, links, Wi-Fi details or contact cards in a square pattern. Built in error correction lets it be read even when part of it is dirty, folded or covered by a logo.

About Wi-Fi

A Wi-Fi QR code holds the network name after S:, the password after P: and the security type after T:. Special characters are escaped with a backslash, which the reader removes for you.

Frequently asked questions

Is it allowed to read a Wi-Fi password this way?

The password is inside the code for anyone who scans it. Use it only for networks you are allowed to join.

Are my images or camera picture uploaded?

No. Images are decoded in your browser and the camera picture is processed frame by frame on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers.

Why does the browser ask for camera access?

The camera is only used while the camera view is open. It stops as soon as a code is found, when you press Stop or when you switch to another tab.

Can it read barcodes too?

This tool reads QR codes. Classic barcodes such as EAN-13 need a different reader.

What if an image has several QR codes?

One code is read per image. Crop the image around the code you need, or add each crop as a separate image.

Does it work offline?

Yes. After you open the page once, reading images and using the camera work without an internet connection.
