Censor image

Cover sensitive information in screenshots and photos with solid black boxes, the only method that hides text completely.

Your files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. Add an imageChoose a file or paste a screenshot.
  2. Drag over the areasEach area is hidden as you release.
  3. DownloadDownload the edited image.

Redact before you share

A screenshot of a bank page, an order, a chat or an email often contains data that should not be posted: card and account numbers, addresses, phone numbers, names and codes. A solid black box removes these pixels for good; nothing of the original remains in the downloaded file.

Drag over each line or field. You can switch to blur or pixelate for photos where a black box would look too harsh.

Private by design

The screenshot is edited in your browser and never uploaded, which matters exactly for the kind of images you want to censor.

Check the preview before downloading to make sure every line is covered.

Frequently asked questions

Is a black box safer than blur?

Yes. It replaces the pixels completely, so there is nothing left to restore.

Is the original kept in the file?

No. Only the edited image is saved, without hidden layers.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.

Can blur be undone by someone else?

The original pixels are not stored in the file. For text with very few characters, use the black box to be completely safe.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Drag with your finger to select areas.
