How it works
Add the framesDrop two or more pictures and drag them into the order they should play.
Set speed and sizeChoose the frame duration, how often it repeats, the size and how pictures of other shapes are fitted. The preview updates right away.
Make and downloadPick GIF, WebP or MP4, press the button and download the animation.
Good uses for a GIF from pictures
A product from several angles, a short before and after, the steps of a recipe, a stop motion made with your phone, a chart that changes over the months or a few screenshots that show how a feature works: a GIF plays them one after another without a video player and loops by itself.
For a slideshow of photos 700 to 1500 milliseconds per frame feels calm; for stop motion and frame by frame drawings try 8 to 12 frames per second. Turn on a different duration per frame to keep the first or last picture on screen longer.
Keeping the GIF small
GIF stores every frame as its own picture, so size and frame count matter most. A width of 480 to 800 pixels is enough for chats and web pages. Pictures of the same shape avoid empty edges, and with Fill every frame is cropped to the same frame. Pixels that do not change from one frame to the next are stored only once, which is why screenshots and drawings give much smaller GIFs than photos.
About GIF
GIF plays everywhere and loops by itself, but holds at most 256 colors per frame.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mix JPG and PNG files?
Yes. JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, BMP and SVG can be mixed in one GIF.
My pictures have different sizes. What happens?
With Fit each picture is centered on the background, with Fill it is cropped from the center. The output size follows the first picture unless you choose another option.
Are my pictures uploaded?
No. The frames are read and the animation is created in your browser, so your pictures never leave your device.
Is the GIF maker free, with no watermark?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many animations you make.
How many frames can I use?
As many as your device can handle. Dozens of photos are no problem; with hundreds of large frames choose a smaller width so the GIF stays a reasonable size.
Why does my GIF look grainier than the photos?
A GIF can hold only 256 colors, shared by all frames. Smooth gradients and skin tones suffer most. Choose WebP or MP4 when full color matters.
Can I use an animated GIF as a frame?
An added GIF counts as one frame and its first picture is used. To change an existing animation, convert it with the GIF to video tool or the image converter instead.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page is open, GIF and WebP need no connection. MP4 needs a small video library that loads the first time you make an MP4; after that it works offline too.
