Inventory barcode scanner
Count stock by scanning barcodes with your phone or laptop camera. Each scan adds the item to a list, scanning it again raises the quantity, and the finished count downloads as CSV or Excel.
Free and private. Everything runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How it works
Add the barcodeStart the camera, drop a photo or paste a screenshot. Every barcode in the picture is read.
Check the resultYou see the code, its type and whether the check digit is correct.
Copy or countCopy the code or add it to the count list, then download the list as CSV or Excel.
A stock count without special hardware
Small shops, warehouses and offices can do a stocktake with the phone they already have. Open this page, press Use camera and scan the products one by one. A short beep and a flash confirm each scan, and the line of the product moves to the top of the list with its new quantity.
The same code is counted again only after it has left the frame for about a second. Take the next item, show it to the camera and it is added; keep holding one item and it is not counted twice.
Correct, save and export
Quantities can be changed with the plus and minus buttons or typed in, and a damaged label can be typed into the input field. USB and Bluetooth scanners that act as a keyboard add codes there too. The list is kept in this browser, so a closed tab or a dead battery does not lose the count. Download it as CSV for your stock program or as Excel, where barcodes stay text and keep their leading zeros.
About EAN-13
EAN-13 is the 13 digit product barcode used on retail goods worldwide. The last digit is a check digit calculated from the other twelve, which lets readers catch most misreads.
About CSV
The count list downloads as a CSV file with code, type and quantity columns. It opens in Excel, Google Sheets and stock programs; the Excel download keeps codes as text.
Frequently asked questions
Can several people count into the same list?
No. The list lives in one browser on one device. Each person can count a different area and download their own file, and the files can then be combined in a spreadsheet.
Are my photos, camera picture or lists uploaded?
No. Barcodes are decoded in your browser and the count list is stored only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Which barcode types can it read?
EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar, ITF and ITF-14, GS1 DataBar, QR, Micro QR, Data Matrix, Aztec and PDF417. You do not need to choose the type.
Can it tell me the product name or price?
No. A barcode only contains a number. The product name and price live in the database of the shop or the brand, which this tool does not query. You can paste the number into a search engine to find the product.
What does the GS1 prefix mean?
The first digits show which national GS1 organization gave the company its number range. It is not the country where the product was made: a German brand can make products in China and keep a German prefix.
The camera does not read the code. What helps?
Hold the barcode flat and fully inside the frame, about 15 to 25 cm from the camera, with good light and no glare. Laptop webcams often cannot focus up close; take a photo with your phone and drop the image instead.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the page has been opened once, reading images, the camera and the count list work without an internet connection.
