How it works
Add the barcodeStart the camera, drop a photo or paste a screenshot. Every barcode in the picture is read.
Check the resultYou see the code, its type and whether the check digit is correct.
Copy or countCopy the code or add it to the count list, then download the list as CSV or Excel.
Works with real photos
Each image is searched at full size and at a smaller size, in every direction, so codes photographed at an angle or upside down are found too. JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC from iPhones, GIF, BMP and SVG files are supported.
A shipping label or a delivery note often carries several barcodes. All of them are read and shown one under another, each with its own copy button.
Codes on your screen
Barcodes in an email, a PDF or a web shop are easiest to read with a screenshot: press Windows + Shift + S or Command + Control + Shift + 4, select the code and press Ctrl+V on this page.
About PNG
Screenshots and saved images are read just like photos. PNG files with sharp black bars are the easiest; phone photos in JPG or HEIC work well when the code is in focus.
About TXT
The decoded value is shown as plain text that you can copy: digits for product codes, letters and digits for Code 128 and Code 39, and any text or link for QR and Data Matrix.
Frequently asked questions
Why is no barcode found in my image?
The bars may be too small or blurred. Use a sharper photo, take it straight from the front and keep some white space around the code. Very small codes in screenshots read better after zooming in before the capture.
Are my photos, camera picture or lists uploaded?
No. Barcodes are decoded in your browser and the count list is stored only in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Which barcode types can it read?
EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 128, Code 39, Code 93, Codabar, ITF and ITF-14, GS1 DataBar, QR, Micro QR, Data Matrix, Aztec and PDF417. You do not need to choose the type.
Can it tell me the product name or price?
No. A barcode only contains a number. The product name and price live in the database of the shop or the brand, which this tool does not query. You can paste the number into a search engine to find the product.
What does the GS1 prefix mean?
The first digits show which national GS1 organization gave the company its number range. It is not the country where the product was made: a German brand can make products in China and keep a German prefix.
The camera does not read the code. What helps?
Hold the barcode flat and fully inside the frame, about 15 to 25 cm from the camera, with good light and no glare. Laptop webcams often cannot focus up close; take a photo with your phone and drop the image instead.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After the page has been opened once, reading images, the camera and the count list work without an internet connection.
