Convert JPG to SVG

Turn a JPG logo, scan or sketch into an SVG vector file, with the white background removed if you like and JPG noise smoothed out.

Your files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.

How it works

  2. Check the resultCompare the SVG with the original and adjust the settings if needed.
  3. DownloadSave the SVG or copy its code.

Vectorizing a JPG logo or scan

Logos often survive only as a JPG from an old website, an email signature or a scan. JPG compression leaves faint noise around edges. The tracer merges these stray pixels into the surrounding color, so the SVG gets clean outlines instead of fuzzy ones.

JPG has no transparency, so a logo usually comes on a white rectangle. Tick Remove background and the white around the logo becomes transparent, while white parts inside the logo stay.

Scans, sketches and signatures

For a scanned drawing or a signature photographed on paper, choose the Line art preset. It separates the ink from the paper, even on slightly gray or uneven paper, and gives a single colored shape you can place on any background.

A JPG photo can be turned into a poster-like SVG with the Photo preset, but it will not become a true vector image.

About JPG

JPG is a lossy pixel format made for photos. Its compression adds faint noise around edges, which the tracer smooths out, but a sharp, high quality JPG still gives a much better result.

About SVG

SVG is a vector format. It stores shapes instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size and is often tiny for simple logos. Browsers, design apps and cutting machines all read it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove the white background of my JPG logo?

Tick Remove background. The white area connected to the edges of the image becomes transparent.

My JPG is small and blurry. Will the SVG be sharp?

The outlines will be sharp, but details that are already lost in the JPG cannot come back. Use the largest version you can find.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The image is traced in your browser and never sent to a server.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of images.

Can I turn a photo into an SVG?

You can, with the Photo preset, but the result is a poster-like picture made of flat colors, not a real vector version of the photo. Vectorizing works best for logos, icons and drawings.

Small text or thin lines look bumpy or are missing. What can I do?

Raise Detail, lower Smoothness a little and use the largest version of the image you have. Very small source images simply do not contain enough information.

Can I edit the text in the SVG?

Not as text. Letters are turned into shapes. You can recolor or resize them, but to change the wording, type it again in a design app.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, you can convert images offline.
