Convert PNG to SVG

Convert a PNG logo, icon or drawing into a scalable SVG: transparent areas stay transparent and each color becomes a clean vector shape.

Your files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. Add your fileDrop the image or choose it from your device.
  2. Check the resultCompare the SVG with the original and adjust the settings if needed.

From PNG pixels to SVG shapes

PNG is the usual format for logos and icons, but it has a fixed size. Scaled up for a banner, a print or a cutting machine it turns soft or blocky. Converting it to SVG traces each color area into an outline that can be resized without any loss.

Transparency is kept: transparent pixels of the PNG stay empty in the SVG. If the logo sits on a white or plain colored square, tick Remove background to drop it.

Getting a clean result

Start with the Logo preset. If the logo has more shades than you expect, lower Colors; if small text breaks up, raise Detail. Zoom in on both previews to check curves and corners before you download.

Line drawings, signatures and stamps look best with the Line art preset, which keeps only the ink and drops the paper.

About PNG

PNG is a lossless pixel format that supports transparency. It is the most common source for logos and icons, and a clean PNG gives the best vector result.

About SVG

SVG is a vector format. It stores shapes instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size and is often tiny for simple logos. Browsers, design apps and cutting machines all read it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the transparent background of my PNG kept?

Yes. Transparent pixels stay transparent in the SVG.

Why does my SVG have fewer colors than the PNG?

Soft edges in a PNG contain many in-between shades. The tracer merges them into the main colors, which gives clean shapes. Raise Colors if a real color is missing.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The image is traced in your browser and never sent to a server.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of images.

Can I turn a photo into an SVG?

You can, with the Photo preset, but the result is a poster-like picture made of flat colors, not a real vector version of the photo. Vectorizing works best for logos, icons and drawings.

Small text or thin lines look bumpy or are missing. What can I do?

Raise Detail, lower Smoothness a little and use the largest version of the image you have. Very small source images simply do not contain enough information.

Can I edit the text in the SVG?

Not as text. Letters are turned into shapes. You can recolor or resize them, but to change the wording, type it again in a design app.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. Once the page has loaded, you can convert images offline.
