Height in feet and inches

The most common reason to convert meters to feet is body height. Type your height in meters, for example 1.80, and the converter shows 5.906 ft and, on the line below, 5 ft 10.9 in. A few reference points: 1.60 m is 5 ft 3.0 in, 1.70 m is 5 ft 6.9 in, 1.75 m is 5 ft 8.9 in and 2.00 m is 6 ft 6.7 in. Sports profiles, dating apps and many US forms ask for height in this format.

Buildings, mountains and flying

Feet are also the unit for altitude in aviation worldwide and for building heights in the US. A 3 m ceiling is 9.84 ft, a 100 m tower is 328.08 ft and Mount Everest at 8,848.86 m is 29,031.7 ft. Divers in the US give depth in feet as well: 30 m is 98.43 ft. For square meters to square feet, pick Area in the categories.
