Convert MOV to MP4

Turn MOV videos from an iPhone, a Mac or a camera into MP4 that plays everywhere. H.264 videos are ready in seconds without quality loss.

Your files never leave your device. Everything runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. Add your videosDrop the files; the target format is already set.
  2. Wait a momentMost files finish in seconds, the progress bar shows the rest.
  3. DownloadDownload the converted videos one by one or as a ZIP.

iPhone videos that play everywhere

iPhones and Macs save video as MOV. Windows players, Android phones, many websites and upload forms prefer MP4. When a MOV already contains H.264 video, as with the Most Compatible camera setting, the converter simply moves it into an MP4 container: the result looks exactly the same and is ready in seconds, even for long recordings.

By default iPhones record in HEVC (H.265), the High Efficiency setting. Such videos are re-encoded to H.264 so that the MP4 plays on every device; this takes longer and uses your device's hardware encoder.

Private and unlimited

Family videos and work recordings stay on your computer, because nothing is uploaded. Drop several files at once and download them together as a ZIP.

About MOV

MOV is Apple's QuickTime format, used by iPhones and Mac editing apps. iPhone MOV files contain HEVC video by default, or H.264 when the camera is set to Most Compatible.

About MP4

MP4 is the most widely supported video format. With H.264 video and AAC audio it plays on practically every device and platform.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting MOV to MP4 lose quality?

Not when the video is H.264: then the tracks are copied without re-encoding. HEVC videos from an iPhone are re-encoded to H.264 at high quality.

Are my videos uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser and the files stay on your device.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit. Very large files depend on your device's memory.

Will the quality drop?

Not when only the container changes. When re-encoding is needed, the quality is kept high.

Which browser works best?

Current Chrome and Edge support the most formats. Safari and Firefox work for most files.
