How it works
Add your Word fileDrop a .docx file or choose it from your computer. It opens in your browser.
Check the previewThe preview shows headings, lists and tables as they will appear. Adjust images and other options if needed.
Copy or downloadCopy the HTML or download it as a file with the same name as your document.
HTML that fits your site
The HTML uses plain tags without classes or style attributes, so it takes the design of the page you paste it into. Choose Full HTML page if you need a complete file that opens on its own in a browser.
Images are embedded as data URIs by default. Turn them off when you upload images to your CMS separately.
About Word
DOCX is the Word format used since 2007. Inside it is a ZIP archive with XML files that describe paragraphs, styles, lists, tables and images. Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Pages can all save documents as .docx.
About HTML
HTML is the language of web pages. The converter writes simple, clean tags such as h1, p, ul and table without inline styles, so the content fits into any site or email template.
Frequently asked questions
Can I paste the result into WordPress or Shopify?
Yes. Switch the editor to its HTML or code view and paste. Because there are no inline styles, the text uses your theme's fonts and colors.
Is my document uploaded?
No. The file is opened and converted in your browser. It is not sent to our servers.
Can I convert old .doc files?
Only .docx files are supported. Open an old .doc file in Word or LibreOffice and save it as .docx first.
Are images kept?
Yes. Images are embedded into the HTML, so the file works on its own. You can also leave images out to get lighter code.
Why do fonts and colors disappear?
On purpose. The converter keeps the meaning of the content, such as headings, emphasis, lists and tables, so the text takes the look of the page you paste it into.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After you open the page once, documents can be converted without an internet connection.
