How it works
Press StartThe time is already set. Press Start or the space bar.
Do your thingThe countdown keeps going in another tab, and the tab title shows the time left.
Hear the alarmThe alarm rings when the time is up. Press Start again to repeat.
A full hour, measured right
One hour is a common length for exams and mock tests, a deep work session, a gym class or a bread rise. It is also handy for parking meters and laundry, when you need a reminder long after you have left the screen.
Over a full hour, small delays add up in timers that simply count ticks. This one works from the actual end time, so it does not drift, even if the tab sleeps in the background or the page is reloaded.
In front of a class
For an exam, switch to full screen on the projector. Large numbers and the shrinking ring are easy to read from the back of the room, and the screen stays on until the hour is over.
Frequently asked questions
Will a one hour timer drift?
No. It calculates the remaining time from the saved end time, so it stays accurate for the full hour.
Does the timer work in a background tab?
Yes. The alarm is scheduled when you press Start, so it rings on time even when you are in another tab or app. Keep the tab open.
Will the timer continue if I reload the page?
Yes. The end time is saved in your browser, so the countdown continues. Click anywhere once after a reload so your browser allows the sound.
Can I use it without sound?
Yes. Choose No sound; the tab title and the screen still show when the time is up.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free, with no sign up and no limit.
