The quarter hour

Fifteen minutes is the length most sleep researchers suggest for a power nap: long enough to feel rested, short enough to wake up without grogginess. It is also a common slot for stand up meetings, a short study block, a long Pomodoro break or a load of quick chores.

For a nap, choose a sound that will wake you and turn off Repeat alarm only if you are sure you will hear it once. With Repeat on, the alarm keeps ringing until you stop it.

On any device

The timer works on phones, tablets and computers, and after the first visit it also works without an internet connection. Nothing is installed and nothing is sent to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Is 15 minutes a good power nap?

For most people a nap of 10 to 20 minutes feels refreshing without the grogginess of deeper sleep, so 15 minutes is a common choice.

Does the timer work in a background tab?

Yes. The alarm is scheduled when you press Start, so it rings on time even when you are in another tab or app. Keep the tab open.

Will the timer continue if I reload the page?

Yes. The end time is saved in your browser, so the countdown continues. Click anywhere once after a reload so your browser allows the sound.

Can I use it without sound?

Yes. Choose No sound; the tab title and the screen still show when the time is up.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free, with no sign up and no limit.
