Convert text to lowercase
Turn text typed in capital letters back into lowercase. Accented capitals become accented small letters, so names and words keep their spelling.

How it works
Paste your textType or paste text, or open a text file. The result updates as you type.
Check the languageThe language follows the page, and you can switch it to match your text.
Copy the resultCopy it with one click or download it as a text file.
Fix text typed with caps lock
Text copied from old systems, spreadsheets or messages written with caps lock is hard to read. Convert it to lowercase first, then use Sentence case if you want capital letters back at the start of each sentence.
Lowercase is also useful for email addresses, tags, file names and data you want to compare without case differences.
Examples
Make a list of email addresses consistent before removing duplicates, turn shouted headlines back into normal text, or prepare tags and file names that should not contain capital letters.
About TXT
Any plain text works, including lists, titles and text copied from documents, emails or websites. Line breaks are kept exactly as they are.
Frequently asked questions
Does the language setting change the result?
For most text no. It matters for Greek, where a final sigma becomes ς, and for Turkish and Azerbaijani, where I becomes the dotless ı.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in your browser and nothing is sent to our servers.
Why does the language setting change some letters?
Most letters convert the same way everywhere, but a few do not. If your text contains the Turkish letters İ or ı and another language is selected, the tool tells you, because those letters would change.
Are names and abbreviations kept?
Sentence case and Title Case lowercase other letters, so abbreviations like NASA become Nasa. Fix those by hand after converting, or use Capitalize Each Word for lists of names.
Does it work offline?
Yes. After you open the page once, it keeps working without an internet connection.
