How it works
Add your HEIC filesDrop them onto the page or choose them from your device. You can add as many as you like.
Check the settingsThe output is already set to JPG. You can still change the settings if you need to.
DownloadSave each JPG on its own or get them all at once in a ZIP file.
Open iPhone photos everywhere
iPhones save photos as HEIC to save space. That works well inside Apple's world, but Windows, many web shops, marketplaces and government forms still expect JPG. Converting takes a few seconds per photo and keeps the picture sharp.
Photos are decoded in your browser, which matters for personal pictures, ID documents and receipts: nothing is uploaded.
Good to know
Quality 90 gives files close to the original in look and only slightly larger. Lower it for smaller files, for example when a site limits upload size. Photos are turned the right way up automatically.
About HEIC
HEIC is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. It keeps the same quality as JPG in about half the space, but Windows, many websites and upload forms cannot open it. Converting gives you a copy that works everywhere.
About JPG
JPG (or JPEG) is the most widely used format for photos. It uses lossy compression to keep files small, and almost every device, app and website accepts it. It does not support transparency, and quality drops a little each time a JPG is edited and saved again.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get HEIC photos from my iPhone to my computer?
Use a cable, AirDrop to a Mac, iCloud Photos or send them to yourself by email. You can also change Settings, Camera, Formats to Most Compatible so new photos are saved as JPG.
Can I convert many photos at once?
Yes. Drop as many HEIC files as you like and download them all in one ZIP file.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser on your own device. Your files are not sent to our servers.
Is there a limit on file size or number of files?
There is no fixed limit. Very large images depend on how much memory your device has, so a phone may struggle with images above about 50 megapixels.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. After you open the page once, it keeps working even if your connection drops, because the conversion runs entirely in your browser.
What happens to transparent areas when I convert to JPG?
JPG cannot store transparency, so those areas are filled with a background color. White is the default and you can pick another color in the options.
Which format gives the smallest file?
It depends on the image. After converting, use Find the smallest format: the tool tries WebP, JPG and PNG with your own files and shows which one is smallest.
Can I keep working on the converted files?
Yes. The Next step bar takes your results straight to another conversion without uploading or choosing them again.
Does it work with animated GIFs?
The first frame of an animated GIF is converted as a still image.
